The border also passes through the highest peak in the world, Mount Everest.

History:

Being one of the traditional hometowns of the Tibetan people as well as some other ethnic group like Qiang, Monpas and Lhobas whereas Han and Hui colonized by substantial numbers of people. Tibet emerged in the 7th century as a unified empire however it soon diverged into a variety of territories. The region proclaimed its independence in 1913, this region managed its autonomy until 1951 when following a military conflict; Tibet was incorporated into the people Republic of China (PRC) controls Western and Central Tibet as the Tibet Autonomous area while eastern region is chiefly within Sichuan and Qinghai provinces.
